![]() ![]() Her husband worked in the x-ray department and Pat worked with premature babies in the NICU. ![]() The couple moved back to Wichita, Kansas after her husband left the service where they both started to work in the medical profession. ![]() Pat’s life as the wife of a sailor provided her with some wonderful memories and many trials. One short year later, Pat was blessed with the birth of a daughter. Little did she know at the time her talent with words would bring her motherhood, love, and marriage.Īfter she and her husband got married, Pat moved even further from the farm, and to the naval town of Groton, Connecticut. ![]() In the year 1973, Pat penned a letter to a lonely sailor. She attended high school in Chapman, Kansas, and left her family’s farm in the year 1970 in order to attend Kansas State University at Manhattan Kansas to prepare for her chosen career in nursing.Īfter finishing college, she started a wonderful career as a nurse. She wound up devouring each and every novel that she was able to get her hands on. Fishing down at the creek, 4-H, and softball were just a few of her favorite pastimes, however nothing held her interest nearly as much as a good book. Not surprisingly, she was something of a tomboy. Author Patricia Davids grew up with four brothers in Kansas on a farm, with many dogs and three horses. ![]()
